Value Added Packaging, Inc. is growing and much of the growth can be contributed to the positive culture and Team Member care at the facility. VAP is receiving a new machine this month, and their Team will be able to run it without additional staff due to the efficiency improvements achieved over the last year and a half.
Value Added Packaging Team Members know their opinion is valued. Through their suggestions, along with the direction of the owners, the staff can now complete the work that used to take a 40 hour week in just 30 hours. During this “proactive time”, Team Members brainstorm ideas for customers, work on process improvements and even go in groups to volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul.
Value Added Packaging wants to make sure each individual in the organization is doing what they love or has the opportunity and training available to move to a fitting position. Team Members are encouraged to shadow other Team Members to learn more about the different positions and see how all pieces of the puzzle fit together. These initiatives allow the Team to take ownership of their work, providing a better quality product and better customer experience. VAP has consulted other companies on their culture – how to improve it – and has earned new business based on the fact that people just want to work with a company that invests in their employees.
