I started in Assembly in August of 2013. I worked alongside the lead who taught me what I needed to know to be successful. I tried my hardest to keep up with her, the techniques she used and different ways to build packs. By September, VAP had a job opening for the Logistics Lead. I applied for the position and Mari and Jarod must have seen something in me because they gave it to me!
My first day in Logistics I thought to myself, “Why did I sign up for this? I can’t do this!!” because I was there so late trying to get things done. The next day I came to work and said to Mari “I can’t do this, it’s just not for me.” She responded with, “Yes you can, I know you can. Try it for a week or two and then let me know.” And so I did and I made it! I worked really hard and proved to them that I wouldn’t let them down. I came in early, stayed as late as I needed to.
I loved the atmosphere while working in logistics, the team I worked with always kept me laughing.
Jarod came to me a few years later and asked how I felt about an open Scheduling position. I was unsure about it at the time and told him I wanted some time to think. Two weeks later him and Mari asked me again, and so I agreed to try it out. Well whatdoya know, I was able to do that as well. I sit in the office with a few other team members who are always a joy to be around, just like in logistics they keep me laughing. VAP is the best place I have ever worked, its nice to be able to call it my second home. I wake up wanting to come to work every day, not everyone can say that.
I’ve been doing scheduling for over a year now and still enjoy it. I am Mighty Mouse, taking HOT items to customers in need, making things happen!
